LEWES BAROQUEFEST 2022

We are so delighted to be able to offer our third Lewes Baroquefest, which will take place from July 20th to July 23rd 2022, with a new addition this year of a Sing & Discover workshop on Handel's Coronation Anthems on 16th July. To bring live music to our wonderful town, which has such a strong vocal and instrumental tradition and plethora of
international musicians, is a true pleasure and honour.

Events this year include chamber recitals by Trio ZAC (Zoe Shevlin, Annette Isserlis and Cecelia Bruggemeyer), incantati (Emma Murphy, Rachel Stott and Ibrahim Aziz), Julia Bishop, Alison Bury, Catherine Rimer and Claire Williams; a solo cello recital by Sebastian Comberti; a fascinating recital combining the baroque recorder with 21st century synth technology by Piers Adams and Lyndy Mayle; and two performances by the Baroque Collective Singers directed by John Hancorn: anthems and songs by Purcell with soprano Alexandra Kidgell, and, our final concert, Handel’s Coronation Anthems and extracts from Messiah, with the Baroque Collective.

We very much hope to welcome you back to our festival with some of these enticing events!

Warmest wishes,
John and Julia
